Position Summary

The Diagnostic Physics & Radiation Safety Services Manager is a managerial position that will coordinate and directs activities associated with Diagnostic Physics and Radiation Safety Services of the Radiation Safety Office at Vidant Medical Center as well as Vidant Health facilities and contracts.

Minimum Requirements

  • Master's degree in Medical Physics, Health Physics or Radiological Physics, or closely-related field
  • Board Certification by the American Board of Radiology or American Board of Medical Physics in Diagnostic Medical Physics.
  • Registration with the NCDHHS in the following classes: Class III, IV, V, VI and XI
  • Minimum five (5) years of clinical experience in Medical Physics is required. Specific clinical experience in Diagnostic Radiology, CT, Nuclear Medicine, Mammography, MRI, Ultrasound and Hospital Radiation Safety is required
  • Proficiency in computer-based word processing, spreadsheets, and database management
  • Maintain current involvement in professional organizations
  • Maintain current professional registries and certifications, as applicable
  • Gain and maintain Unescorted Access of 10 CFR 37 Nuclear Security areas within the probationary period (inclusive of a satisfactory FBI Background Check) and as necessary thereafter as required by the North Carolina and Federal regulations
  • Radiation Safety Officer-Eligible by board certification or a combination of education and experience.
