Vidant Health offers comprehensive Information Technology (IT) services and infrastructure to support and enable all aspects of organizational operations. Our IT division consists of a state-of-the-art data center located in Greenville, NC. The data center services all information technology needs of Vidant Health facilities. All Vidant Health owned or leased hospitals are on a common IT platform, including our electronic health record (EHR) that uses Epic's suite of applications. Vidant Health has achieved Meaningful Use Stage 2 recognition and is also approaching Stage 7 for HIMSS Analytics’ Electronic Medical Records Adoption Model (EMRAM) recognition.

Position Summary

Responsible for developing, managing, and enforcing processes that govern the creation and delivery of analytic products using modern, customer driven, responsive, and agile methodologies.  Management of one or more highly complex or enterprise-wide programs. May have team management duties. Strategizes the marketing and operational delivery of analytic products while managing scope, cost, and schedule. 

The Analytics Product Manager will be part of Vidant Health's Enterprise Data & Analytics organization and will be responsible for developing the vision and driving the strategy, planning and execution for analytics platform and solutions offered. The candidate will be expected to actively participate in defining and driving our analytics strategy, and roadmap. Candidate will work with diverse Vidant Health business units to identify, define and evaluate analytics offering opportunities and with the technical team to execute data science driven projects as we build out capabilities and our architecture.

The Manager is accountable for leading the continuous development of advanced analytics capabilities as delivered through data products and services. They are responsible for developing, managing, and enforcing processes that govern the creation and delivery of analytic products using agile methodologies. 

Enterprise Analytics at Vidant Health is built on a culture of experimentation, innovation, and consultative approach. As a facilitator of enterprise insights and data products, this role ensures collaborative partnerships with leaders across the enterprise. Through routine, direct engagement with analytics customers across the health system, this role provides support for the development of actionable insights and provides a critical linkage between the strategies of both analytics and the organization to achieve breakthrough performance for all Vidant Health stakeholders.

Coordinates activities across both service delivery and product development to that we are creating value for the organization. Actively identifies and removes impediments in order to ensure that assigned sprints and projects are completed on time. Tracks and reports daily schedules.

The successful Product Management leader brings together a diverse set of organizational and influence skills and experience, including agile planning and execution tools, technologies, and methods, business acumen, management consulting, and professional services / analytics-based knowledge delivery practices, to continuously improve Vidant Health's analytics capabilities.

This position requires a person who can work within an integrated group, and can manage activities and outcomes as well as mentor personnel with diverse backgrounds and knowledge. This person must be detail, action, solution and results oriented and must demonstrate creativity, foresight and mature judgment in managing the production reporting environment.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher

  • Three to four years related experience

  • Major in product management, data science/ analytics, computer science, mathematics, statistics, business, or social science with heavy quantitative analysis, or related field strongly desired.

  • Minimum of three years experience in managing products or a large portfolio of projects. 

  • Solid technology leadership skills, including high level vision and understanding of strategy and value management.

Preferred Requirements

  • Master's Degree or higher

  • Application of product management in healthcare delivery or analytics.

  • Understanding of data science trends and future state technologies and their applicability to business process analytics.

  • Experience with product management and design principles.

  • Experience with product management tools such as Product Board, Aha!, and Trello.

  • Experiences in gathering input from customers and in negotiating priorities.

  • Three-or-more years of experience in a healthcare operations environment (health system or insurer).
