Vidant Edgecombe Hospital, formerly Heritage Hospital, is a full-service, 117-bed acute care facility where residents of Tarboro, Edgecombe county and surrounding communities receive a wide range of health services close to home. Position Summary

  • Team member will ensure proper operation of boilers, chillers, cooling towers, hot water systems and tanks, steam systems, condensate systems, heat exchangers, pumps, air compressors, HVAC equipment, and other mechanical and electrical systems of the facility. 
  • Team member will play a significant role in both minor and major disasters. 
  • Team member will be  responsible for the helicopter pad and lights when helicopters come and leave the facility.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school graduate or the equivalent required and knowledge of mechanical and general building maintenance skills required.
  • Boiler operations experience or physical plant background of at least four years.
  • Trade school graduate may be acceptable in lieu of experience. Demonstrate ability to read and interpret blueprints and design sketches.
  • Hospital experience preferred.
