Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital is a 114-bed, not-for-profit hospital located in Ahoskie, NC. The 15-bed ER serves approximately 21,000 patients per year from the local community and surrounding towns. This modern facility provides a wide range of health services to its 39,000 residents in the four-county area.

Ahoskie, NC is ideally located an hour from the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area and two hours from Raleigh, Richmond, Williamsburg, and the beautiful Outer Banks of NC. Position Summary

Demonstrates knowledge and competency in all MRI procedures. Operates all equipment used in MRI area. Assesses patients utilizing departmental policies and procedures. Implements patient care in accordance with policies and procedures. Performs continuous quality improvement activities. Participates in educational activities for patients and self. Displays leadership skills in performing job

Responsibilities

Demonstrates knowledge and competency in all MRI Interventional procedures.

Proficiently performs all procedures independently.

Demonstrates knowledge of supply usage and location.

Gives rationale for action using defined principles.

Selects proper technical factors that adequately display pathology.

Demonstrates proper safety techniques for self and patient.

Administers drugs/contrast as needed.
Implements patient care in accordance with policies and procedures.

initiates and maintains quality patient care throughout the scheduled procedure.

Utilizes a multidisciplinary approach in the implementation and coordination of patient care.

Prioritizes patient care according to procedures.

Responsible for performing, documenting, and maintaining proper safety procedures.

Based on diagnosis, initiates action to reduce or correct any risk factors.

Explains the procedure to the patient.
Assesses patients utilizing departmental policies and procedures.?? Insures clinical data is correct and appropriate for the specific procedure.

Assesses patient's condition and reacts appropriately.

Obtains informed consent as needed.

Demonstrates the ability to monitor the patient utilizing available equipment.

Provides documentation of individualized patient care.

Selects appropriate charge for completed procedures.
Displays leadership skills in performing job.

Adheres to hospital and departmental policies and procedures.

Demonstrates problem solving skills.

Demonstrates appropriate and useful interpersonal relations and communication.

Participates in team building.

Demonstrates the ability to accept supervision and delegates authority as needed.

Displays good time-management skills

Makes effective contributions to the department and hospital.
Operates all equipment used in MRI area.

Demonstrates knowledge and competency in the use of equipment.

Documents all required QA activities relating to equipment.

Learns new applications as needed.
Participates in educational activities for patients and self.

Identifies patient and family learning needs.

Incorporates knowledge from in-services and previous patient care education into current situations.

Completes all JCAHO and hospital annual requirements.

Attends staff meetings and educational activities.
Performs continuous quality improvement activities.

Delivers quality patient care and shows documentation of such.

Insures correct patient identification methods.

Obtains written Radiology order prior to beginning procedure.

Obtains prior MRI and Radiology films.

Minimum Requirements

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
High School plus specialized training min 6 months to 2 years or higher
Current RT (R) certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiology
MRI certification within 12 months of employment/transfer.

Other Information

Full-time position, 40 hours per week.
