Vidant Medical Center is a 900+ bed Level-1 Trauma Center, regional referral hospital and is the flagship hospital for Vidant Health. We serve as the teaching hospital for the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. Vidant Medical Center provides acute, intermediate, rehabilitation and outpatient services to more than 1.4 million people in 29 counties.  But it's in our work environment that you'll find our sense of family and closeness that permeates everything we do.

MRI is part of the Radiology Imaging Division of Vidant Medical Center.   There are 3 scanners servicing Inpatients, Outpatients, and Emergency Department patients.  A full range of MRI procedures are performed including cardiac, FMRI, and MRA’s.  The MRI department is staffed 7 days per week from 7:00 am -11:30pm with “on call” coverage after 11:30pm. 

The MRI department is accredited through the American College of Radiology.


  • Demonstrates knowledge and competency in all MRI Interventional.
  • Operates all equipment used in MRI area.
  • Assesses patients utilizing departmental policies and procedures.
  • Implements patient care in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Performs continuous quality improvement activities.
  • Participates in educational activities for patients and self.
  • Displays leadership skills in performing job.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School plus 2 years or more of formal training or education.
  • Second year student of accredited MRI program eligible for MRI certification exam or graduate of accredited MRI program.
  • MRI certification within 12 months of employment/transfer.
  • Current compliance with CEU requirements. CPR Certification.

Other Information

  • Part Time: at 10 hours weekly schedule to be determined. hours may  vary.
