  • Gives thorough, courteous explanations to patients and family members.
  • Identifies self to patient and/or family, calling patient by name. Checks 2 patient identifiers prior to study. (ID Band for patients names and DOB) 
  • Treats all patients with courtesy, dignity and respect.
  • Obtains clear medical history from the patient / family. 
  • Obtains signed consents form(s) from patient and/or family member when appropriate.  
  • Observes all safety measures for staff, patients and equipment.  
  • Assumes responsibility for the physical and psychological care of patients.  
  • Promptly reports malfunctioning equipment.  
  • Reports any changes in patient's condition or behavior to nursing staff.
  • When procedure is cancelled due to patient's condition, ordering physician is notified.  
  • Screen all persons who enter the magnet room to insure each person is safe to be near the magnet.  
  • Understands and maintains skills for screening patients who need IV contrast agents. 

Minimum Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited radiology technology program. 
  • Registered by the ARRT (R), Radiology.
  • Ability to operate MRI equipment; manage patients during MRI procedure; follow oral and written instructions; communicate with patients, visitors, and employees within the organization.
  • Must possess computer skills. 

Preferred Requirements

  •  Certification by the ARRT (MR), MRI, Preferred. 
  •  Prior experience preferred; extensive on-the-job training.

  • Monday -Friday
  • 9:00 am - 5:00pm
  • Call as needed
