Vidant Duplin Hospital is a 81-bed, not-for-profit hospital, located in Kenansville, North Carolina. The newly renovated, 15-bed ER serves approximately 22,000 patients per year from the local community and surrounding towns.


  • Under the Clinical Supervision of the Medical Director of the Clinical Laboratory and the overall supervision of the Director of Clinical Support Services, the Lab Manager ensures that all clinical laboratory tests in all areas of the laboratory are performed according to standard operating policies and procedures.   
  • The Manager supervises, coordinates, and participates in activities of employeees performing various chemical, serological, microscopic and microbiological testing of body fluids, exudates, skin scrapings, autopsy and surgical specimens to obtain data that assist the physician in diagnosis and treatment of disease.  
  • Acts as a communicator between the Administrative Branch and the Laboratory and between the Medical Staff and the Laboratory to resolve problems and more effectively accomplish the purposes mentioned above. 
  • Position requires a strong working knowledge of medical laboratory functions, a fundamental understanding of the budget processes, personnel management and applicable state and federal regulations. 
  • Must possess the ability to prioritize and organize work, communicate effectively at all levels, problem solve and think critically. 

Minimum Requirements

  • Graduate of approved school of Medical Technology ;Bachelor of Science  preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • ASCP registry eligible (MT) with certification obtained within 12 months from hire date or registry eligibility date.

  • 5 years experience as Med Tech with 2 in a supervisory role. 

  • Current BLS, if not current at time of hire, must complete within first 6 months of employment and maintain.

Preferred Requirements

  •  Bachelor of Science
