Position Summary

Performs a variety of functions to facilitate the testing and reporting of laboratory analyses.  Primary functions include collecting and processing specimens for testing, preparing specimens for transfer to reference laboratories, ensuring the timely reporting of results to physicians.  Other duties include answering telephone and communicating with clients, inventorying and ordering supplies.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school plus 1 year of formal training or education in the Medical or Computer Science field. One year of the required education may be substituted with one year of additional work experience.
  • Phlebotomy certification, ASCP, ASPT, NCA preferred. 
  • More than 1 year of experience in a medical setting (ie: hospital or reference laboratory setting, physician office, outpatient clinic, or other medical setting) preferred.
  • Computer literacy is required with experience using hospital or laboratory information systems preferred.
