Position Summary

  • Assist in providing direct quality patient care under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse.
  • Assist in the coordination of intradepartmental and interdepartmental patient care activities and seeks to promote harmonious professional relations.
  • Collaborates with members of the health care team.
  • Monitors and communicates changes in the patient's condition.
  • May document care in patient's medical record, procedures and nursing standards.
  • Assists in completing the nursing admission record consistent with policies and interviews patient/significant others to complete health history.
  • Documents care and patient's response to care within the framework of the standards of Nursing Service.
  • Assists in developing, implementing and evaluating and revising the plan of care.
  • Participates in implementing the plan of are through effective use of procedural and organizational skills.
  • Observes the patient's condition throughout the shift and informs the registered nurse of the patient's status.
  • Reports changing patient status that affects unit staffing needs to charge nurse.

Minimum Requirements

  • American Heart BLS
  • North Carolina LPN Licensure

Other Information

  • PRN as needed
  • Monday-Friday clinic hours
