About Vidant Duplin Hospital

Vidant Duplin Hospital is a 81-bed, not-for-profit hospital, located in Kenansville, North Carolina. The newly renovated, 15-bed ER serves approximately 22,000 patients per year from the local community and surrounding towns.


  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to communicate appropriately with staff of varied skill levels and expertise.
  • Maintains appropriate par values and inventory stock for assigned departments.
  • Maintains organization of inventory in assigned departments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Ensures requisitions are completed appropriately.
  • Ability to learn and operate PeopleSoft efficiently.
  • Places orders for stock and non-stock commodities.
  • Provides backorder follow-up with documentation to requestor.
  • Coordinates the receipt of goods with the Supply Room, the requestor, and Accounts Payable.
  • Keeps all current files maintained in an orderly fashion.
  • Participates in disaster/emergency drills as required.
  • Responds to emergencies throughout the hospital.
  • Maintains confidentiality of patient information.
  • Uses department “scripts” to effectively communicate with other departments, patients, families, coworkers and students in person or over the phone
  • Demonstrates safe operation of equipment in compliance with department policy, safety, disinfection, infection control and quality control standards.
  • Demonstrates effective computer skills for email, researching, ordering and report functions.
  • Uses Safety Behaviors to provide safe patient care.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Two years experience in Materials Services, Purchasing, or related area required.

Preferred Requirements

  •  Additional training in typing/word processing highly recommended.
