Information Services at Vidant Health

Vidant Health offers comprehensive Information Technology (IT) services and infrastructure to support and enable all aspects of organizational operations. Our IT division consists of a state-of-the-art data center located in Greenville, NC. The data center services all information technology needs of Vidant Health facilities. All Vidant Health owned or leased hospitals are on a common IT platform, including our electronic health record (EHR) that uses Epic's suite of applications. Vidant Health has achieved Meaningful Use Stage 2 recognition and is also approaching Stage 7 for HIMSS Analytics’ Electronic Medical Records Adoption Model (EMRAM) recognition.

Position Summary

The Manager of Financial Applications will provide hand-ons management of the day-to-day support for Vidant Health's PeopleSoft, Stratajazz, Kronos, and EPSI systems, as well as other applications as defined. The position requires a dual understanding of business procedures and practices in addition to the technical aspects of the system.

The Manager of Finanical Applications will manage the process, workflow and content design, definition, build, deployment and day-to-day management of the systems and applications that comprise Vidant Health’s Health Information Management areas

This position requires open communication and strong partnerships with the business to fully understand their processes, discover needs and translate requirements of functional and technical specifications to ensure customer satisfaction throughout the delivery process

Responsibilities

Implements solutions incorporating an exceptional level of communication and organizational skills among IS technical and application staff.

Provides integrated focus and direction to staff based upon the assignment of clearly defined tasks, due dates and deliverable/outcome expectations.

Demonstrate that they can manage and mentor personnel to ensure most effective utilization of individual skills and staff development.

Works closely with staff who conduct testing to ensure content additions, changes, defects, upgrades, etc. work as designed within all workflows.

Responsible for planning, communicating, leading and coordinating system changes/additions/enhancements with all affected areas and uses in advance of production deployment.

Must be detail, action, solution and results oriented and must demonstrate creativity, foresight and mature judgment in managing their functional area.

Minimum Requirements

  • Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, computer technology, information systems or related field strongly desired.
  • Minimum 3 years in an IS leadership/management role with a strong operational background and proven track record of accomplishments
  • Demonstrated project management skills and successfully managing mission critical IS production environment with multiple stakeholders in a multi-entity, geographically diverse organization.
  • Polished interpersonal skills to communicate tactfully, effectively and with discretion within all levels of management.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills. A critical thinker who uses their expertise to make sound decisions.
  • Acute attention to detail and accuracy
  • Peoplesoft experience strongly preferred
