Vidant Health offers comprehensive Information Technology (IT) services and infrastructure to support and enable all aspects of organizational operations. Our IT division consists of a state-of-the-art data center located in Greenville, NC. The data center services all information technology needs of Vidant Health facilities. All Vidant Health owned or leased hospitals are on a common IT platform, including our electronic health record (EHR) that uses Epic's suite of applications. Vidant Health has achieved Meaningful Use Stage 2 recognition and is also approaching Stage 7 for HIMSS Analytics’ Electronic Medical Records Adoption Model (EMRAM) recognition.

Position Summary

The IT Asset Management Specialist will support all life cycle management activities associated with IS assets (ie: hardware, software, peripheral equipment). Performs day to day activities required to manage and maintain the accuracy of assets utilizing electronic discovery tools to perform review, verification and reporting of assets. Documents standards, following lifecycle process and procedures for hardware and software as it relates to asset management and ensures the integrity and accuracy of the data.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to work with and maintain several databases and manage numerous details associated with the each asset record of the IS asset portfolio, including licenses, warranties, and service agreements for the organization's hardware and software.
  • Conducts and/or performs periodic audits of the IT asset portfolio to ensure compliance.
  • Possess understanding of hardware lifecycle management.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
  • Develop and implement procedures for tracking company assets throughout their lifecycles.
  • Plan, monitor, and record software license and/or hardware assets to ensure compliance with vendor contracts. Supports license reclamation, renewals and license audits.
  • Registers and/or ensures registration of new Assets / Configuration Items.
  • Identifies and remediates process gaps within the hardware/software purchasing and software renewal management process. Identify savings opportunities for renewals, software licensing, and services.
  • Assists in conducting Quality Assurance over asset management process and policies

Minimum Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in IS procurement and inventory management.

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft SCCM for inventory purposes.

  • Proficient in the use of ServiceNow

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.

Desired Certifications:

  • ITIL and/or ITAM Certified preferred.
