About Vidant Medical Center

Vidant Medical Center is a fully accredited, 900+ bed regional referral facility encompassing a Level-1 Trauma Center and extensive inpatient and outpatient services including intensive and intermediate care, pediatrics, bariatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, surgery, pain management and psychiatry.


  • Positively demonstrates the concepts of patient and family centered care by communicating with and providing assistance to patients, families, employees, and all visitors to the hospital.
  •  Consults with members of the health care team and provides updates and other information to patients and families.
  • Coordinates with other staff  to reinforce family presence and visitor guidelines,  to include relocating families and visitors to alternative wating areas/conference rooms/lobbies as needed.
  • Explains and/or clarifies hospital policy and procedure when appropriate. Collaborates with and reports patient/family concerns to appropriate personnel as needed and assists with resolution of concerns.
  • Provides patient location assistance.
  • Proactively seeks to provide wayfinding assistance to patients, families, visitors and employees.
  • Determines special need of families and facilitates access to appropriate resources. Performs hourly rounding to ensure safety, comfort and to meet/exceed expectations of patients, families, visitors and staff;
  • Documents and reports potential or actual incidents and safety hazards appropriately. Collaborates with appropriate support services to ensure cleanliness of all assigned areas.
  • Performs clerical duties, as assigned.   

Minimum Requirements

  • H.S. graduate or equivalent required. 
  • 3 months - 1 year experience as a Receptionist, Switchboard, direct customer/public service or other guest relations experience required.

  • 1 full time vacancy, 7:00 pm - 7:00 am.
