Position Summary

Prepares surgical specimens submitted to the laboratory for microscopic examination by the pathologists, maintains records of prepared specimens and maintains equipment. Assists physicians with gross examination and with frozen sections.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School plus 2 years of formal education or training in Biology or Chemistry is required.
  • One to two years of experience as a Histotechnician or related experience is required.
  • Must be HT(ASCP) or HT(ASCP) eligible.  HT(ASCP) certification must be obtained within first 2 years of employment.
  • 1 year to 3 years of experience is required.

  • Schedule: 6:30am to 3:00pm. May be early morning hours (3am to 6am as possible start time - subject to change based on department needs) includes Saturday rotation
