Position Summary

Prepares surgical specimens submitted to the laboratory for microscopic examination by the pathologists, maintains records of prepared specimens and maintains equipment. Assists physicians with gross examination and with frozen sections.

Minimum Requirements

High School plus an associates degree from an accredited college/university with at least 12 semester hours (18 quarter hours) of biology and chemistry (must include credit hours in both disciplines).


At least 60 semester hours (90 quarter hours) of academic credit from an accredited college/university, with at least 12 semester hours (18 quarter hours) of biology and chemistry (must include credit hours in both disciplines)


Five years of previous lab experience or 3 years of Histology or Cytology experience may be substituted for the additional education requirement beyond high school.

  • 11:00am to 7:30pm (other hours as needed) Monday to Friday
  • No weekends and No holidays
  • official collge transcript will be needed if offered
