Position Summary

  • The Histology Supervisor maintains competence in every aspect of Histology and  acts in place of the section manager when necessary. The position is responsible for the daily overall supervision and operation of the Histology Laboratory.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School plus 2 years of formal education or training in Biology or Chemistry is required
  • BS in Basic Science preferred
  • HT (ASCP) or HTL(ASCP) required, QIHC recommended
  • 5 years of experience in Histology is required
  • 1 of the 5 years must be experience in Immunohistochemistry
  • Experience in routine histological skills to include fixation techniques, embedding, microtomy and staining
  • Special histological skills to include:  Immunohistochemistry and Immunofluorescence

Other Information

  • 6:30 am - 3:00 pm and other hours as needed, rotating Saturdays.
