About the Leo W. Jenkins Cancer Center

The Leo W. Jenkins Cancer Center provides outpatient cancer treatment services on the medical campus of Vidant Medical Center and the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. Cancer experts here diagnose and treat thousands of cancer patients every year.

 Minimum Requirements

  • Board Eligible/Board Certified in OB/GYN 
  • Certificate of special competence in Gynecologic Oncology from the American Board of OB/BYN (or be eligible) 
  • Special consideration given to those with training and/or interest in minimally invasive robotics

The Leo Jenkins Cancer Center (LJCC), a joint venture between Vidant Health is seeking Gynecologic Oncologists to join its multidisciplinary team of Oncologists.

Vidant Medical Center, a Level 1 Trauma Center, is over a 900-bed teaching hospital directly connected to the Brody School of Medicine. Vidant Medical Center currently offers minimally invasive robotics options for hysterectomy, sacrocolpopexy, myomectomy and gynecologic oncology procedures using the state-of-the-art da Vinci® Surgical System. Vidant Medical Center has been a training site for robotics surgery since 1999, and currently houses three da Vinci® Surgical Systems; two are available for scheduling procedures and one is stationed in the robotics surgery-training center.
