About Vidant Bertie Hospital

Vidant Bertie Hospital is a six-bed critial access state-of-the-art facility located in Windsor, North Carolina that provides surgical, emergency and diagnostic services, specialty clinics and primary care clinics. Our primary care physician practice operates the Vidant Family Medicine - Windsor and we have a telemedicine link with the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. The Emergency Medicine Physicians see approximately 30 patients per day, as well a cover the 6 inpatient beds during nights and weekends. Our medical staff includes some of the finest primary care, internal medicine physicians and surgeons in the region.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up an dcoordinates all cleaning schedules, duties, and instructions for all Housekeeping personnel, and/or as described in the established Environmental Services guidelines:  assures adequate coverage for all areas during normal hours of operation; assigns and coordinates special duties and tasks as needed; orders supplies and linens to assure adequate stocking levels; and performs routine inspections of all areas of the facility for cleanliness and sanitation.
  • As a working supervisor, participates in and follows cleaning schedules and duties as described in the established Environmental Services guidelines:  performs daily cleaning tasks which are part of the assigned routine responsibility; maintains a high standard of cleanliness in all areas of responsibility; and maintains stock levels of supplies to assure that all areas are adequately supplied.
  • Inspects, operates, and cleans equipment to maintain, protect, and enhance their operation and durability:  properly inspects, maintains, and cleans all equipment used in the performance of housekeeping duties; and reports all equipment outages to the Facilities Services Manager and arranges for repairs of all broken or damaged equipment.
  • Adheres to all policies mandated by Vidant Bertie Hospital as well as attends and participates in continuing education and other required training classes and drills as required by Vidant Bertie Hospital:  adheres to all hospital and departmental policies, such as dress code, time and attendance standards, etc.; attends and completes all training as required by Vidant Bertie Hospital; understands own role in emergency situations, such as fire, bomb threats, internal and external disasters; and participates in emergency drills, such as fire drills, bomb threats, and "Code Pink" drills.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must have at least 2 years supervisory experience or 4 years experience in a healthcare/sanitation or manufacturing environment.
  • Must be computer literate with working knowledge of MS Excel and other MS Office programs.

Preferred Requirements

  • AA or BA degree
  • Background with state and federal regulatory agencies (OSHA, EPA) and accreditation agencies i.e. TJC and DFS

Other Information

  • Full-time position, 40 hours/week
  • Primarily Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
  • May be required to work occassional weekends and holidays under special circumstances
