Vidant Edgecombe Hospital, formerly Heritage Hospital, is a full-service, 117-bed acute care facility where residents of Tarboro, Edgecombe county and surrounding communities receive a wide range of health services close to home. More than 20 specialties are represented by Vidant Edgecombe Hospital's medical staff, assuring the people of Edgecombe county that almost all their health needs can be met right here at home. In addition to acute care, our services include rehabilitation, oncology and outpatient clinics.




  • Prepares food trays for regular and therapeutic diets.
  • Delivers food carts to patient floors.
  • Prepares and delivers late trays to patients room.
  • Prepares and delivers IBM snacks to patients floors.
  • Prepares sets up and delivers medical nutritionals to patients floors.
  • Plates cold foods for regular and special diets.
  • Prepares food as indicated on food production sheet.
  • Understands prepares and or serves age specific menus according to the departments scope of care.
  • Follows standardized recipes.
  • Monitors food temperatures when preparing foods prior to and during serving.
  • Ensures steam table temperatures remain at or above 140 F.
  • Chcks MSDS for additional information.
  • Checks labels before mixing chemicals.
  • Stores chemicals appropriately.
  • Actively participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement.
  • Ensures equipment/working areas are clean before, during and after use.

Minimum Requirements

  • The employee must be a High School Graduate.  No experience is required.

1 part time vacancy, hours will be between 7:00 - 7:00 pm.
