Our IT division consists of a state-of-the-art data center located in Greenville, NC. The data center services all information technology needs of Vidant Health facilities. All Vidant Health owned or leased hospitals are on a common IT platform, including our electronic health record (EHR) that uses Epic's suite of applications. Vidant Health has achieved Meaningful Use Stage 2 recognition and is also approaching Stage 7 for HIMSS Analytics’ Electronic Medical Records Adoption Model (EMRAM) recognition.

Position Summary

Vidant Health is searching for an Ambulatory Applications Manager. The Manager is responsible for the process, workflow and content design, definition, build, deployment and administration of the systems and applications that comprise the necessary build for Vidant Health Outpatient Ambulatory Electronic Health Record and others within the non-acute care setting.

The Manager of Ambulatory Implementation manages and leads technical and analyst teams who are onboarding practices and supporting the implementation of all associated applications. This position requires the ability to implement solutions incorporating an exceptional level of communication and organizational skills. The Manager develops the team, leads resources, ensures effective development and software design and test processes.

The Manager of Ambulatory Implementation will work with business partners and other IT Leaders to define, plan, execute, monitor, manage and transition the onboarding of newly acquired practices and affiliate programs per schedule and within budget.

This position requires an understanding of Vidant Health and Vidant operating unit strategic goals, as well as the ability to work with application user community and subject matter experts to plan and execute business initiatives in alignment with those goals. This position requires a person who can work with an integrated group, and manage and mentor personnel to ensure most effective utilization of individual skills and staff development.

The manager must be detail, action, solution and results oriented and must demonstrate creativity, foresight and mature judgment in managing the Epic environments.

The Manager of Ambulatory Implementation will model and direct his/her team in providing excellent customer service and support.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Computer Technology, Information Services, Information.

  • Management or related field strongly desired or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Completion and certification in Epic Application(s) will be required.

  • Clinical experience preferred.

  • 3 years to 5 years related work experience.

  • One to five years of experience in an IS Leadership/management role with a strong operational background and proven track record of accomplishments in Information Services within a large, complex, multi-location organization.
