Position Summary

  • The Educational Nurse Specialist (ENS) is a registered nurse who executes professional development processes to develop and maintain competence and lifelong learning
  • The education nurse specialist enhances nursing professional practice among nurses at all levels of the organization and functions as a leader, innovator, facilitator and change agent
  • The ENS works within the Vidant Medical Center nursing professional practice model and operationalizes the scope and standards of practice for nursing professional development as ascribed by the American Nurses Association
  • The ENS utilizes research and best evidence to impact nursing professional development at Vidant Medical Center

Minimum Requirements

  • Master's Degree in nursing or a related specialty (Required) with concentration in education preferred
  • Current RN Licensure In North Carolina
  • At least 5 years experience in clinical practice with evidence of clinical knowledge, leadership and teaching abilities; two additional years experience in area of specialty is desirable
