Information Services at Vidant Health

Vidant Health offers comprehensive Information Technology (IT) services and infrastructure to support and enable all aspects of organizational operations. Our IT division consists of a state-of-the-art data center located in Greenville, NC. The data center services all information technology needs of Vidant Health facilities. All Vidant Health owned or leased hospitals are on a common IT platform, including our electronic health record (EHR) that uses Epic's suite of applications. Vidant Health has achieved Meaningful Use Stage 2 recognition and is also approaching Stage 7 for HIMSS Analytics’ Electronic Medical Records Adoption Model (EMRAM) recognition.

Position Summary

The Caboodle Developer creates a moderately complex data warehouse and information delivery solutions, including data design, database architecture, metadata and repository creation, across multiple domains. The Caboodle Developer performs root cause analysis for ETL job failures, complex data warehouse integration issues, and multi-layered analytic solutions. Consults with the business to define complex requirements across multiple data domains and business functions. Acts as a consultant to the Population Health for requested services and makes recommendations on the approach to solving business problems. Also specific to this role: The Caboodle Developer installs and maintains the

Caboodle and Clarity Consoles used to transfer data nightly from Chronicles into the Clarity database and from Clarity into the Caboodle database ensuring that the ETL processes completed daily.

A successful Epic Caboodle Developer will have excellent critical and analytical thinking skills. They will be able to communicate effectively, work independently and have strong customer engagement abilities. The Developer will have a thorough understanding of healthcare clinical workflows and personal drive to develop technical skills of the team to improve system processes.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field required

  • Certifications accepted in lieu of education: Epic Clarity Administration certification, Epic Caboodle Administration certification, Epic Caboodle Development certification, and/or multiple Epic Clarity data model certifications

  • 3 to 5 years of related work experience with health care payer or provider

  • Technical skills should include PL/SQL, TSQL, ETL, Oracle, MS SQL Server SSIS, Epic Clarity, and Epic Caboodle

  • Certification in one or more Epic application data models preferred
