Responsibilities

  • Receive, prepare, arrange and scan all incoming CBO paper documents into Image Now software system, including, but not limited to:
  • Legal, medical record, insurance, workmen's compensation and audit requests. Claims payment and explanation of benefits information.
  • Patient self pay payment coupons and checks.
  • 835 and 837 claim and remittance files. Electronic audit and refund requests.
  • Patient statement, collection letters, and collection files.
  • Performs quality analysis and verification of scanned and saved image files.
  • Ensure proper readibility, orientation, and accessibility on 100% of scanned images.
  • Maintain hard copies of files according to policy. Responsible for the maintenance and destruction of paper copies.
  • Saves, indexes, and routes all Image Now files. Assigns all files to the appropriate Drawer/Document type.
  • Indexes all files to the appropriate Patient/Transaction(s). Routes all documents requiring further follow up, signatures, or review to the appropriate individual within the Image Now software system.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. Adherence to all Vidant Health standards of performance.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • At least one year of office or clerical setting dealing with the public or other employee groups.
