  • Evidence of Leadership experience, e.g. charge nurse or primary nurse
  • Ability to function independently
  • Demonstrates appropriate clinical knowledge and the ability to understand severity of illness and intensity of service in order to assure that criteria for acute hospitalization is met
  • Willingness to be a resource to fellow staff as it relates to clinical expertise and the management of healthcare and function as a resource to fellow staff Willingness to function in a multi-faceted department
  • Demonstrates the willingness to maintain a working knowledge of regulations and policies of State and Federal agencies
  • Experience in medical setting
  • Requires extensive knowledge of accepted social work practices and organization programs as well as other community
  • agencies and/or local, state, and federal programs as potential sources for assistance in resolving casework problems for all age group.
  • Must be able to hear and understand conversation in a moderate tone, including telephone conversations. Must speak intelligibly
  • Vision must be adequate for writing, typing, and viewing computer screen, assessment forms and patient's charts
  • Must be able to complete written documentation. Must be able to type computer information
  • Must be able to stand/walk for approximately 4 hours during shift and sit for approximately 4 hours during shift
  • Work and communicate efficiently with others and co-workers, possessing tact, discretion, confidentiality and diplomacy.
  • Possess the ability to work under pressure and prioritize caseload. Must be able to respond to unusual situations.
  • Ability to adapt to rapid and unpredictable changes in patient caseload.
  • Ability to work independently and use a creative problem-solving approach to patient situations.
  • Willingness to participate in departmental projects in a positive manner, problem-solving and up-dating standards of careas it relates to discharge planning

Minimum Requirements 

  • Degree in Human Services field or a professional nurse who is appropriately licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in
  • North Carolina. Four year college degree-BSN or applicant currently enrolled in BSN
  • Three to five years experience preferred
  • CPR/BLS Certification required

Preferred Requirements

  • Degree in Human Services field or a professional nurse who is appropriately licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in
  • North Carolina. Four year college degree-BSN or applicant currently enrolled in BSN with graduation date scheduled.
  • Three to five years experience preferred

 Other Information

  • Full-time position
  • Monday - Friday
  • 7:30 am - 3:30 pm
  • Call everyother weekend
