Vidant Health is a regional health system serving 29 counties in eastern North Carolina. We are working every day to improve the health of the 1.4 million people we serve. Vidant Health is made up of 8 hospitals, physician practices, home health, hospice, wellness centers and other health care services. Vidant Medical Center is affiliated with the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. Responsibilities

  • The Director develops and implements fundraising plans for selected service lines and medical divisions within Vidant Health. Fundraising plans include direct prospect research, proposal writing-all aimed at addressing various needs of the departments. Activities are planned and accomplished through collaborative team work with other philanthropy departments.
  • Solicits donations for VH projects from various sources including individuals, foundations and corporations.
  • Works to identify giving opportunities with the medical departments.
  • Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops and professional affiliations.
  • Leads major projects for fundraising throughout VH system.
  • Performs other responsibilities or assignments as required.
  • Understands and utilizes Raiser's Edge Database.
  • Identifies, cultivates, and solicits leadership and major gifts and maintain a high volume of prospects for Vidant Health.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree from four-year college in related field is required.
  • Five or more years of experience in fundraising with responsibility for major and planned gifts.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills and communication skills and be guided by a compelling "client/customer" orientation.
