Position Summary

  • The Material Management Director is responsible for all aspects related to perioperative material management functions, department charges entry functions, surgeon preference cards and surgical scheduling.
  • Provides direct oversight to department ordering, receiving, storage and distribution of supplies/equipment use in perioperative services.
  • Provides daily oversight to ensure appropriate supply charge capture, maintenance of surgical preference card and accuracy of department scheduling.

Minimum Requirements

  • Two years of clinical expertise and knowledge in Perioperative Services is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or business management is required.

Preferred Requirements

  • Previous supervisory role experience preferred   
  • Experience with perioperative supply ordering, instrumentation purchase, surgical equipment coordination, capital equipment purchases and contract negotiation/renewal preferred  
  • Experience with preference card development/maintenance, surgical scheduling and block utilization is preferred   
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Knowledgeable in forecasting and budgeting
