Responsibilities

  • Evaluates exposures to all legal entities to ensure appropriate risk financing options are selected and utilized to protect the resources of the system.
  • Reviews corporate documents such as leases, bylaws, contracts, etc. to identify insurance needs.
  • Works with Broker to identify insurance options to place coverage and coordinates annual renewals.
  • Participates in due diligence with new acquisitions and joint ventures.
  • Oversees management and processing of non-GL/PL claims.
  • Coordinates and supervises the management of claims.
  • Ensures adequate claims reserves/resourcing for claims.
  • Oversees claims management by Insurance Specialist and Claims Technician.
  • Oversees driving committee and MVR check program.
  • Responsible for system insurance budget.
  • Assists in developing and monitoring department and divisional budget.
  • Develop insurance budget for the health system.
  • Processes invoices and payments for insurance products.
  • Completes actuary study.
  • Identifies appropriate contract language related to risk financing.
  • Reviews contracts for hold-harmless and insurance requirements.
  • Issues COI's and verifies coverages as required for contracts and credentialing.
  • Oversees self-insurance programs.
  • Maintains language within insurance document.
  • Oversees development and tracking of reserves and processing of payments.
  • Evaluates and analyzes excess coverage language related to SIR.

Minimum Requirements

  • College Degree (4 yrs.) plus other schooling in Insurance, Business,  Finance or related field is required.
  • ARM or CPHRM is required.
  • 5 years experience is required.
