Responsibilities

  • Provide documentation to support the operations of  Vidant Health.
  •  Provide and maintain documentation for medical staff promotions, special procedure requests, maintenance of the permanent credentials file for all practitioners, verification of maintenance of current license, DEA, and insurance for all practitioners, verification of Vidant Medical Center work history, collection of UPIN#s and communication of same.
  • Prepare for and provide support for managed care surveys conducted as part of the delegated credentialing contract with BSOM, as well, as hospital accreditation surveys by the Joint Commission.
  • Monitoring of Credentials database accuracy:
  • Periodic assessment of the credentials database to ensure dates are up to date.
  • Support local ownership of specific data elements.
  • Offer support to ensure timely entry of data elements, i.e. reappointment dates.
  • Provide expert advice, guidance and direction to Vidant Health Medical Staff Offices.
  • Relay understanding of regulatory standards in conjunction with Vidant Health Accreditation.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school graduate with 1-2 years experience in hospital, managed care credentialing, or Human Resource management in an office or hospital setting required.
