Position Summary

We are hiring for our Grant Office.  We are looking for a Corporate Accountant that has experience in the development, budgeting, and management of accounting in our Grants Office.  The accountant will maintain a comprehensive financial reporting system for hospital's subsidiaries and foundation. The Corporate Accountant will verify elimination entries for all inter-company transactions for production of corporate combined financial statements and perform complete accounting cycle for the other accounts receivable.

  • Manage and maintain accountability for Vidant Health (VH) grant funds received from external agencies by conducting ongoing financial analysis that includes financial reporting, cash flow and financial feasibility of proposed programs

  • Budget development for grants during the application and post-award phase, and expense reports for the same.

  • Assures that financial processes are in compliance with State and Federal regulations.

  • Reconciles general ledger assets, liability, revenue and expense accounts for grant funded programs/projects.

  • Compiles information for governmental and benchmarking surveys, annual audit and tax preparation packages

Minimum Requirements

Demonstrates competence in the following:

  • Accounting and Financial Reporting

  • Organizational skills

  • Exemplary oral and written communication skills

  • Knowledge of healthcare systems and regulatory agencies

  • Team building

  • Independent learning

Four year college degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration - preferred

  • Minimum of 2-3 years related worked experience - preferred

  • Nonprofit and/or grant accounting experience - preferred
