Position Summary

Responsible for ensuring accurate insurance benefits investigation is completed and documented. Gather all necessary information to bill claims in appropriate order in the event of multiple payers. Ability to determine appropriate billing process--medical, pharmacy, other. Review claims and patient accounts to determine claims integrity.?? Identify available financial assistance options and assist patients with gaining financial support.?? Proactively communicate with clinical staff and co-workers regarding medication coverage status and promote exceptional customer service and professionalism within the organization.

Minimum Requirements

  • Zero to two years related experience
  • High School or Equivalent (GED) or higher
  • Experience in and working knowledge of the healthcare industry
  • Ability to work with and protect extremely confidential patient and employee information.
  • Professional Competencies:
    • Proficient with MS Excel, Word, and Outlook
    • Attention to detail with emphasis on organizational skills
    • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills
    • Self-initiative; ability to work independently
    • Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines
    • Ability to work with all levels of internal manaement and staff, as well as outside clients and vendors

Preferred Requirements

  • PTCB Certification - CPhT
  • Associate Degree
  • One year experience as a pharmacy technician
  • Specialty pharmacy and/or advanced billing experience
