At Vidant Home Health and Hospice, we believe that no family should have to face terminal illness or the death of a loved one alone. Our hospice team provides support for patients and the families of patients with a limited life expectancy. Using a team approach, we work to meet the special physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of our patients and families.     

 Responsibilities

  • Develops, coordinates and facilitates a comprehensive marketing plan for Vidant Care Coordination services in assigned territory. Monitors market potential, market growth and return on investment for marketing strategies. Documents and updates marketing activity and profiling information in contact management system. Monitors referral reports and communicates findings to drive targeted marketing activity. Quantifies total addressable market for assigned territory, including market share by individual competitors, profiles competitors, and prioritizes consumer targets within each territory.
  • Manages customer accounts in a defined territory. Develops and carries out marketing and referral growth strategies according to the marketing plan to generate and maintain a network of repeat referral sources, with emphasis on hospitals, physicians, nursing homes, assisted living communities, and other prospects and accounts as assigned. Maintains knowledge of current Hospice and Homecare admission criteria, Medicare, Medicaid, State and Federal regulations. Coordinates contracts with targeted customers such as SNF’s.  
  • Coordinates and/or participates in public relations, marketing and community events such as Health Expos/ health fairs, church and community group presentations, ground breaking ceremonies, open houses, doctors’ day activities, fundraising events to build brand and service awareness, utilization and loyalty. Represents Vidant on community groups in order to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with a variety of key community stakeholders including but not limited to health care agencies, community/civic organizations and the faith based community. Acts as a VH liaison and promotes VH programs and services. Recruits volunteers to support services and programs. 
  • Manages production of web content, media/advertising, brochures/collaterals, press releases, newsletters, signage, and other promotional outlets.  Works in collaboration with Vidant Marketing and Public Relations Department. Determines appropriate marketing opportunities within each targeted market.  
  • Supports Vidant Care Coordination developments and Vidant strategic initiatives. Acts as a liaison to the community, collaborative partners and to Vidant resources such as Marketing, Public Relations, Physician Liaisons, Central Intake and service/program teams.  

Minimum Requirements

  • 4 year college degreeBusiness, Marketing, Communications or Health Sciences related field
  • Minimum of 3 years marketing, public relations, community outreach experience required, with sales experience in healthcare industry, home care preferred.
  • Evidence of successful track record in a healthcare marketing/account management position. Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of healthcare staff and management. Ability to adjust the message to the audience as appropriate. Strong needs assessment and closing skills. Positive and professional image at all times. Advanced computer skills including Word, Excel, Power Point, desktop publishing, web management, and Customer Relationship Management software applications.  Creative. Must have excellent writing and communication skills as well as interpersonal skills with the ability to interact successfully with various types of public. Must have experience in writing press releases or working with the media. Effective telephone, written and verbal communication skills as well as proficiency and comfort with public speaking.   Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently. Strong organizational skills, and ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively.  Ability to influence others and effectively problem solve. Strong commitment to teamwork and customer service, both internally and externally, is required.   Flexible style.   Valid NC driver’s license and required insurance limits; frequent travel throughout the Vidant service area.   Position requires a flexible schedule with some weekends and evenings.
