Position Summary

Coordinates required/requested training for Vidant Medical Group. Assists with preceptor placements, and coordinates shadowing experience. Works with Operation team to identify opportunities for education and seeks resouces for identified needs.


  • Develop and maintain education strategies for Vidant Medical Group.
  • Participates in needs assessment and establishment of educational goals of assigned area.
  • Coordinates the development of education programs including but not limited to orientation, in-service, continuing education, workshops and self-instructional programs/materials.
  • Consults with managers, supervisors and educators to facilitate application of new knowledge/skills.
  • Communicates opportunities for education to staff throughout VMG.
  • Partners with Vidant Health Education Council to identify training and education opportunities for VMG staff.
  • Represents Vidant Medical Group on Vidant Health Education Council.
  • Partners with state AHEC offices to utilize offered resources to assist with continuing education (CEU, CME).
  • Coordinates Life Support Training with provider and instructor level training by identifying resources within VMG for teaching and training.
  • Ensures that all education materials and training equipment is available, in good working condition and meets AHA standards.
  • Maintains training equipment and inventory  for AHA programs.
  • Manages clinical education contracts for Vidant Health.
  • Partners with colleges, universities and local schools to arrange shadowing and preceptorship assignments.
  • Works with Office of General Counsel to coordinate reviews of education contract for Vidant Health.
  • Manages Learning Management System for Vidant Medical Group.
  • Extracts information from LMS for statistical and data reporting needs.
  • Responsible for data input into LMS.
  • Orientation/Onboarding.
  • Collaborates with HR and Operations to develop an orientation program geared toward a regional workforce.
  • Coordinates and facilitates orientation for all VMG new staff including providers.
  • Develops budget to support the education needs of Vidant Medical Group.
  • Collaborates with Accreditation and Quality to assist in identification of educational  needs to address and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Three to four years related experience
