Vidant Health offers comprehensive Information Technology (IT) services and infrastructure to support and enable all aspects of organizational operations. Our IT division consists of a state-of-the-art data center located in Greenville, NC. The data center services all information technology needs of Vidant Health facilities. All Vidant Health owned or leased hospitals are on a common IT platform, including our electronic health record (EHR) that uses Epic's suite of applications. Vidant Health has achieved Meaningful Use Stage 2 recognition and is also approaching Stage 7 for HIMSS Analytics’ Electronic Medical Records Adoption Model (EMRAM) recognition.

Position Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for the management of key Information Services projects throughout the entire project life cycle.  You will be part of the Information Systems Project Management Office (PMO) and will manage multiple moderate to high complexity projects using Vidant Health's project management framework.  Vidant’s PMO is growing and we need seasoned project managers to join our team.  Must have proven experience managing enterprise wide application implementation and upgrade projects.  Candidates with project experience in healthcare and clinical service areas preferred.  Experience with imaging projects a plus.


  • Manages application related projects (e.g., implementation of new modules, rollouts, and enhancements/upgrades) throughout the entire project life cycle

  • Establishes and executes project plans for successful project delivery

  • Effectively manages project risks and issues

  • Communicates ideas, risks, issues, and status in a clear and concise manner; Adjusts presentation style to suit the intended audience

  • Ensures effective organizational change management to support successful adoption and operationalization of application and workflow changes

  • Manages project budgets

  • Defines resource needs and negotiates for appropriate resources

  • Mentors and coaches resources as necessary in the areas of project leadership

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration or Healthcare or equivalent experience

  • PMP certification preferred

  • 5 to 8 years project management experience required

  • Experience with clinical healthcare applications projects

  • Experience with imaging systems and related interfaces a plus

  • Must be solution oriented and collaborative and have the ability to motivate project teams to deliver results that add value to the organization's goals
