About the Outer Banks Hospital

The Outer Banks Hospital, located in Nags Head, North Carolina, is a full service critical access hospital offering a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services. The hospital opened in March 2002 and is one of the newest hospitals in eastern North Carolina. The hospital's 21 private rooms are designed to meet the needs of our coastal community, whose year-round population of approximately 35,000 swells to about 250,000 in the summer season. The labor and delivery area consists of two labor/delivery/recovery/postpartum rooms, a five-bed nursery, a dedicated caesarean-section operating room and a triage room.

Responsibilities

  • The Certified Nursing Assistant is responsible for handling administrative tasks and performs diverse duties for nursing department.  Also provides specific basic nursing care to patients, under direct supervision.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education

    CNAI – High School Diploma or equivalent, successful completion of Nursing Assistant Course, current certification as CNAI in the state of North Carolina, current listing on the CNAI Registry with the Department of Facility Services. Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider status is required upon hire. 

    CNAII – High School Diploma or equivalent, successful completion of Nursing Assistant II Course, current certification as CNAII in the state of North Carolina, current listing on the CNAII Registry with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider status is required upon hire. 

  • Experience
    Knowledge of computer and other office equipment required.  Ability to manage numerous projects and set priorities.  Ability to maintain confidentiality.  Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant and a CPR certification.

Other Information

  • This is a part-time, 24 hours per week, position.

  • This is a night position.

  • This position comes with part-time benefits.
