Responsibilities

  • Coordinate operations and processes of the Centralized Services Office.
  • Timely and accurately complete tasks related to referrals, scheduling, authorizations within established timelines to ensure patient care and patient satisfaction. 
  • Provide clear communication with clinics and patients regarding status of referrals, authorizations, appointments. 
  • Determine patient's eligibility for insurance coverage by using tools such as PassPort and payer websites to pre-register patients for scheduled appointments. 
  • Use available tools to determine copays, co-insurance and deductibles as applicable to patient visit types. 
  • Communicate to clinic staff via practice management system any needed information or payment due details. 
  • Stay current on all regulations and changes regarding payor requirements for referrals, authorizations and patient
  • collections. 
  • Provide feedback to manager regarding any system issues with assigned duties

Minimum Requirements

  • High school plus 1 -2 years of formal education/experience is required.
  • One year of additional experience may be substituted for one year of the required education, with a maximum substitution of two years. 
  • 3 years to 5 years of previous experience in healthcare field with scheduling, referrals, registration or billing is required.
