Position Summary

BGSUs population consists of multiple types of general surgery patients and also receives overflow of populations such as trauma and medical patients at times. Nursing staff analyze cardiac rhythms on their patients; we are not monitored by monitor techs. Skills that will be utilized are would vac. dressing change, extensive wound management, wound drains, epidurals, arterial lines, central lines, tracheotomy patients, chest tubes, IV start skills, peripheral lab draws, arterial blood draws, various intravenous drips ie. cardiac, insulin, heparin, and cardiac monitoring.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.

  • Active NAI listing with the North Carolina Division of Facility Services

  • Active NAII listing with North Carolina Board of Nursing

  • Current BLS Healthcare Provider - CPR - certification is required through American Heart Association.
