Vidant Duplin Hospital is an 81-bed, not-for-profit hospital, located in Kenansville, North Carolina. The newly renovated, 15-bed ER serves approximately 22,000 patients per year from the local community and surrounding towns.


  • The sonographer provides safe, expedient, cost-effective Radiology services.

  • As a member of a team of health care professionals, a sonographer is responsible for the operation of the Ultrasound imaging equipment and for performing examinations.

  • The sonographer demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide services appropriate to the age, disease process and cultural/spiritual needs of the patient in a variety of clinical settings.  sonographers behave in a manner consistent with the standards and ethics of all health care professionals.

  • The sonographer must maintain a high standard of ethics while providing quality patient care.

  • Performs echocardiograms, (adult and pediatric, outpatient and inpatient tht include 2-D, limited, extensive, transesphagel, bubble studies, and Doppler studies).

Minimum Requirements

  • ARDMS certification required and to include one of the following certifications CCI, RDCS, or RCVT.

  • Current BLS, if not current at time of hire, must complete within first 6 months of employment and maintain
