Position Summary

Under minimal supervision, the Cancer Center Financial Coordinator provides counseling and advocacy for uninsured, underinsured, and private pay patients.  Ensures patients are educated on their financial obligations and provides resources and assistance to secure coverage; acts as a patient advocate to minimize the financial burden associated with cancer treatment.  The Cancer Center Financial Coordinator mitigates the financial risk to the cancer center and hospital by performing accurate financial clearance review along with a comprehensive analysis of patient and payor specific benefits and patient liability.  Coordination and communication with the patient and clinical teams including physicians, nurses, social workers, and navigators is key for the successful financial analysis and clearance.

Minimum Requirements

  • Associate college degree in with concentration in Health Occupations, Business, Social Work or related degree
  • 1 to 3 years experience in a doctors office or hospital
  • Bachelors degree with concentration in Health Occupations, Business, Social Work or related degree can be substituted for experience
