The 15-bed ER serves approximately 21,000 patients per year from the local community and surrounding towns. Position Summary

A Radiologic Tech-CT is responsible for the operation of CT imaging equipment and for performing examinations. The CT Technologist demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide services appropriate to the age, disease process and cultural/spiritual needs of the patient in a variety of clinical settings.


Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide service appropriate to the age of the patient/client.

Assess the appropriateness of care by acquiring and evaluating clinical data and assessing the overall status of the patient based on the age of the patient.

Assess patient current medical status to evaluate changes that require immediate medical intervention. Know whom to call and what information to give and Initiates proper Code Blue when indicated.

Demonstrate proper radiation safety for patient, self and others within procedure.

Understand and abide by departmental and hospital policies and procedures. Obtain radiology order prior to procedure, ensure appropriate clinical information is present on order and that appropriate exam is ordered in accordance to patient needs.

Document all pertinent information as pertains to patient past and current Medical History. Documentation of contrast?? in Healthspan and of patient?? information in PACS?? as needed.

Demonstrate the ability to identify cross sectional anatomy and distinguish normal from abnormal for all procedures as well as evaluate CT scans for technical quality, appropriate labeling before transmitting to PACS.

Load and operate power injectors for contrast media administration.

Maintain accurate patient records on log sheets, this includes type, amount, lot # and expiration date of contrast media.

Assist Radiologist with procedure, starting an IV and administer correct dosage of contrast media in accordance to protocols and supervision of Radiologist. Complete Contrast Questionnaire prior to procedure and is competent in the use of sterile tray technique.

Demonstrate safe operation of all CT equipment in compliance with department policy, safety, disinfection, infection control and quality control standards.

Charge for procedures, contrast, and patient supplies while maintaining operating expenses.

Minimum Requirements

Current R.T.R. Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technolgist (A.R.R.T.).

Registered Radiology Technologist or Registry Eligible with RT(R) credential obtained within 12 months from hire date or registry eligibility status.

CT experience required.

American Heart Association issued CPR Healthcare Provider Certification.?? If not current at time of hire, must complete within first 6 months of employment and maintain.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

This is a full-time position, 9pm-7am, Monday-Thursday.

Call rotation as needed
