Position Summary

Primary essential job functions will be related to COVID initiatives including regional community testing clinics.

Systematically assesses patient's status, uses nursing process to plan individualized nursing care, delivers patient care, provides patient teaching, demonstrates sound clinical judgment, communicates effectively, commitment to partnership in patient care philosophy, maintains a clean and safe environment.

Responsibilities

RN Role

The Staff Nurse demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care and supervise departmental partnerships to achieve positive patient outcomes. The Staff Nurse demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life-span, and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status, and interpret the appropriate information required to identify needs of the patient relative to his or her age and condition.

LPN Role

Assist in providing direct quality patient care under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse. Participates in the assessment of patients. Assists in developing, implementing and evaluating/revising the plan of care. Attends educational programs and staff orientation which promote and professional development. 

Minimum Requirements

  • Current North Carolina RN or LPN license or licensure to practice in a participating Nurse Licensure Compact state Health Care Provider is required.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities required:
    • Basic computer skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Demonstrates competencies in nursing practice.
    • Flexibility in scheduling to meet the twenty four hour needs of patients
    • Possess organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
    • Ability to utilize effective and confidential communication
    • Working knowledge and experience with PC-based applications
    • Maintains stable performance levels under conditions of pressure and multiple demands

Other Information

  • Primary duties will be related to community COVID testing site initiatives
  • Temporary position with no benefits
  • Shifts times will change and vary at each location
  • Locations will change to other cites as state directed
