Responsibilities

  • Performs Needs Assessments for revenue cycle education and training at clinic and service locations.
  • Meets with practice managers and staff to determine educational needs as related to revenue cycle best practices. Serves as a business liaison with clinic managers and clinic staff as related to revenue cycle workflows including but not limited to scheduling, registration, charge capture, workqueue scrubbing, and data integrity. Works closely with VMG Administration, the Client Services Manager, Practice Managers, and Education teams to coordinate educational and remediation activities.
  • Reviews revenue cycle workflows at the practice level. Educates staff and management by serving as a resource for best practice measures for various clinic and revenue cycle activities. Performs research to identify benchmark performance and identify best practice goals. Identifies performance improvement opportunities by routinely monitoring EPIC workqueues and reports. Ensures standardized processes occur across the clinic spectrum. Demonstrates a complete knowledge of EPIC practice management tools, including Cadence, Prelude, and Resolute to the extent of generating reports, following quality indicators at the practice level and higher, by using workqueues and filter reports, My Reports, Billing Reports, and other reporting tools as needed.
  • Monitors and reviews the Central Business office monthly metrics report to understand and communicate variances and their sources from either clinic or business office processes.
  • Central Business Office point person for the implementation of the Practice Management System at practice locations, both hospital-based and ambulatory clinics.
  • Reviews all EPIC build requests for accuracy and completeness of data.
  • Works with CBO management to coordinate and complete go-live checklists.
  • Collaborates with the CBO, Ambulatory Revenue Cycle in IT and Operations teams to ensure new build specifications are accurate and business and clinic requirements are met in a timely manner.
  • Ensures the appropriate resources are allocated to projects.
  • Ensures effective communication between all support team members.
  • Serves as a vendor liaison for business solutions.
  • Works with financial analyst team to complete pro formas and prepare documents for financial analysis.
  • Works with vendor to develop implementation schedules and staff training.
  • Serves as the main coordination point between the end user community and VMG business partners.
  • Promotes VMG missions and goals regarding customer service, standards of performance, quality and all other duties as assigned by Manager/Administrator of Central Business Office.

  Minimum Position Requirements

  • 4 year college degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related required.
  • 1 - 3 years experience in a health care setting, preferably physician office practices with a focus on operational workflows or finance. Lean training/Six Sigma Certification is a plus.
