About Vidant Medical Center

Vidant Medical Center is a fully accredited, 900+ bed regional referral facility encompassing a Level-1 Trauma Center and extensive inpatient and outpatient services including intensive and intermediate care, pediatrics, bariatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, surgery, pain management and psychiatry.

Responsibilities

  • To administer, coordinate and direct all financial transactions of the Hospital Preparedness Program (HPP)  grant and to ensure compliance with federal, state and local requirements and statutes.
  • Responsible for the accounting operations of the HPP grant program to include the production of periodic financial reports, development of budgets (including amendments and revisions), maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls. Analyze budgeting and accounting reports for the purpose of maintaining expenditure controls. Prepare invoices for financial services to make revenue posts monthly, prepare financial reports and budget requests and/or revisions monthly to the Office of OEMS for reimbursement, reconcile financials weekly, analyze/research accounts to determine best financial directions, maintain and prepare financial database.
  • Work with the grants office and legal affairs to ensure Vidant Health and Vidant Medical Center are following proper grant guidelines for the HPP grants program. Aide in the facilitation of a smooth transition and combining of Vidant Health, VMC policies to meet state and federal regulations.
  • Collaborate with the VMC accounting to assure all grant purchases are invoiced and paid within a timely manner. Process all invoices for payment and receive funds due. Process all paperwork and on-line requisitions related to accounts. Record and deposit all regional grant funds. Reconcile billing issues.
  • Other duties will be involved related to records maintenance and compliance.

Minimum Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years previous financial/accounting /budgeting.  Prefer experience related to grants.
  • High School plus 2 years or more of formal training/education in business or accounting.

Other Information

  • Hours are generally 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with occasional evenings and weekends for meetings or educational needs.
  • Location of the position will be at 224 Industrial Boulevard in a satellite location.
