Responsible for administering audiological diagnostic and habilitative/ rehabilitative services to patients of all ages andmaintaining current records of such services. Consults with Administrator relative to all pertinent matters of audiologyprogram development and organization (research projects, expansion of programs, record keeping, policies andprocedures, etc.). Will also be involved in team dynamics and participate in inter disciplinary activities when appropriate.

Evaluates audiological function and makes appropriate recommendations for intervention.The case load of level 1 Audiologist will consist of patients of any age requiring basic audiometric evaluations, hearing aidor assistive listening device evaluations and fittings, Cochlear Implant evaluations and fittings, Auditory BrainstemResponse, or Otoacoustic Emission EvaluationAbides by ASHA code of ethics and NC Licensure law. Stays abreast of current audiological techniques as they pertain to the patient population treated.Assists in developing/revising policies and procedures

Minimum Requirements

  • Graduation from Masters of Science, Masters of Arts or a Doctoral Program in AudiologyNorth Carolina State Licensure in Audiology
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology awarded by ASHA
  • North Carolina Hearing Aid Dealers and Fitters License
  • Progressive and dynamic knowledge of Audiology and a willingness to participate in continuing education, to remaincurrent in the field. Ability to work with other healthcare professionals in a manner that will ensure continued cooperativeefforts.
  • Prior experience in a medically based audiology setting preferred.
