Responsibilities

  • Supports Assistant General Counsel in providing legal counsel, guidance and advice on a wide variety of legal and regulatory matters.
  • Completes research and analysis.
  • Collaborates with business operations on assigned projects.
  • Assists Assistant General Counsel on assigned topics and presentation of educational activities.
  • Drafts and prepares contracts and legal documents.
  • Drafts and signs pleading and represents entity in court and legal actions.
  • Supports contract process and reviews assigned contracts.
  • Assists with management of form contracts.
  • Assists in providing legal guidance on employment matters including EEO and ESC filings.
  • Assists in preparing and reviewing documents for submission of entity's position.
  • Prepares witnesses.
  • Represents entity in select hearings.
  • Performs legal research and analysis on healthcare regulatory requirements.
  • Stays up to date on changes to healthcare regulations and laws.
  • Researches legislature as needed and communicates changes to leadership.
  • Reviews and revises policies as required and educate staff.
  • Drafts and/or reviews policies related to healthcare and business matters.
  • Assists in maintaining corporate policies.
  • Reviews policy for legal and regulatory compliance. 

Minimum Requirements

  • 4 year degree plus other schooling
  • Ph.D. or equivalent: Major: Juris Doctorate
  • NC Law License required
  • 1 to 3 years of experience practicing law.
