Position Summary

Vidant Health is conducting a national search for an Assistant Director of Pharmacy Operations. The Assistant Director of Pharmacy Operations plans, manages and evaluates pharmacy operations and patient-focused services, while maintaining financial responsibility for pharmacy resources. The Assistant Director is accountable for maintaining compliance with all regulatory standards of practice and services as a liaison and professional resource to healthcare practitioners within Vidant Health. This position reports to the Pharmacy Service Line Administrator. 

The Assistant Director of Pharmacy Operations develops and implements systems and services to provide drug distribution services throughout the facility that meet national standards and complies with federal and state regulations.  The Assistant Director will identify opportunities to improve services through the use of new technology and equipment. This position is also responsible for provision of medications for the facility, including developing new channels of medication supply, when needed. The Assistant Director insures adequate staffing to meet workload and productivity requirements and provides performance management of direct reports.  Additionally, the Assistant Director is actively involved in departmental strategic planning, implementing cost savings strategies and enhancing revenue opportunities.


Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher

  • Five to seven years related experience

  • Current Pharmacy Licensure in the state of North Carolina

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

Preferred Requirements

  • Master's Degree or higher

  • Five years or more in Hospital Pharmacy Leadership
