Position Summary

Vidant Health is conducting a national search for an Assistant Director of Outpatient Pharmacy Services.  The Assistant Director of Outpatient Pharmacy Services provides managerial responsibilities for the planning, oversight and evaluation of outpatient pharmacy operations at Vidant Health. The Assistant Director is accountable for maintaining compliance with all regulatory standards of practice and services as a liaison and professional resource to healthcare practitioners within Vidant Health. This position reports to the Chief Pharmacy Officer for Vidant Health. 

The Assistant Director of Outpatient Pharmacy Services oversees the Vidant Health Employee Pharmacy, the Vidant Medical Center Oncology Specialty Pharmacy and the soon to open Vidant Medical Center Outpatient Pharmacy.  The Assistant Director provides leadership and performance management for three direct reports. The Assistant Director is responsible for insuring outpatient pharmacy services meet or exceed patient care and financial goals.  The Assistant Director plans for the expansion of outpatient pharmacy services in the 29 county Vidant Health region incorporating new and innovative strategies to drive value to patients and Vidant Health.  Finally, the Assistant Director works closely with Vidant Health Benefits to plan for, operationalize and evaluate prescription drugs benefits for Vidant Plan members. 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher (PharmD)
  • Five to seven years related experience
  • Current Pharmacy Licensure in the state of North Carolina
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Speciality Pharmacy experience strongly preferred
  • Institutional Pharmacy experience strongly preferred
