About Vidant Medical Center

Vidant Medical Center is a fully accredited, 900+ bed regional referral facility encompassing a Level-1 Trauma Center and extensive inpatient and outpatient services including intensive and intermediate care, pediatrics, bariatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, surgery, pain management and psychiatry.

Responsibilities

  • Disinfecting and sanitizing all surfaces, fixtures, furnishings and equipment with an approved hospital germicide.
  • Performing routine cleaning tasks of trash and linen removal, cleaning and serving restrooms, disinfecting patient roomsand care areas, high and low surface wiping and dusting, stocking and replenishing supplies (paper and soap products) and the sweeping and mopping of the tile floors/vacuuming of carpeted floors.
  • Perform advanced floor and carpet care duties to include buffing and burnishing if tile or hard surface floors, stripping and refinishing hard floors, extracting and shampooing carpet, and cleaning and maintaining upholstery with the appropriate equipment and supplies on hand.                                                              
  • Perform advanced cleaning assignments such as terminal cleaning for invasive care areas, isolation-based cleaning for specific patient care areas and complete cleaning/detailing of patient rooms that are needed for new admissions (discharge cleaning). Assembles needed materials and supplies, signs out equipment and pagers at the beginning of the work shift and transports equipment and supplies to areas throughout the facility. Returns unused supplies and materials to Environmental Services office. Signs pagers and equipment back in at the end of the work shift.
  • Moves beds, furniture, equipment and other movable items in areas as needed to complete cleaning tasks in areas.
  • Required to complete all assigned tasks and duties at the and of each shift. Notify supervisor of any situation affecting completion of any and all assignments.
  • Complete all assignments in a SAFE and APPROPRIATE MANNER to ensure that our co-workers, patients, visitors and property are protected.
  • Perform other duties as directed by member of Management.
  • Utilize the EVS Bed Tracking System for properly accounting for any and all patient beds that are requested for turn around service (discharge cleaning).

Minimum Requirements

  • GED or High School Diploma required.
  • Basic computer skills preferred.

  • 6 full time vacancies, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.
