Non-Privileged Referring, New, and Updating Provider Support:

  • Under general supervision, follows procedures set forth in the Vidant Policies and Procedures.
  • Ensures the accuracy of applications and information received
  • Receives and logs verification requests specific to new referring providers.
  • Will obtain verifications through multiple and appropriate resources.     
  • Collects all pertinent information of referring provider's status and License from the state of the referral (excludes Military Provider).   
  • Maintains communication with referring provider relative to documentation requirements.
  • Communicates new referring provider information along with provider number to appropriate internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Enters all relevant and necessary information into CACTUC system and all other applicable data.
  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate professionally and clearly in both verbal and written form.

Application Support:

  • Submits an application link, introduction letter and instructions to the prospective provider and a copy to the requester. 
  • Provides applicants and requesters with technical and application solution support.
  • Review applications for completeness and communicates with the provider and requester any missing/incomplete information required.    .
  • Send weekly application report status to appropriate entity representatives as assigned by CVO Manager.
  • Enters privileging and payor enrollment tabs and credentialing instances within CACTUS as applicable.

Participates in departmental functions

  • Works in harmony and unison with all personnel within the department and throughout Vidant Health.
  • Promotes and assists in the smooth, efficient delivery of departmental services to providers, other Vidant Health departments, and outside agencies.
  • Performs needed departmental projects.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities.
  • Attends all required educational offerings annually.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school or equivalent
  • Three years experience in a role that performs or supports provider credentialing and enrollment in a hospital, managed care plan or CMS environment is preferred. 
  • Required knowledge of and experience with personal computers, Windows and Microsoft applications, copier and fax machines and multi-line telephone. 
  • Experience in typing, word processing, and business correspondence is required.
  • Experience with primary source verifications, Medicare, Medicaid, NCQA and DOI standards are preferred.
