Vidant Medical Center is a fully accredited, 900+ bed regional referral facility encompassing a Level-1 Trauma Center and extensive inpatient and outpatient services including intensive and intermediate care, pediatrics, bariatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, surgery, pain management and psychiatry.

  • Provides end-user education and training to CCPEC program staff and/or clinic staff members.
  • Maintains appropriate knowledge and skill set of software and applications used in the CCPEC program and network affiliated entities.
  • Reviews end-user issues, workflow problems, enhancement requests, and provide updates on fixes to known issues and planned updates and upgrades.
  • Primary end-user resource for facilitation of NCCCN Informatics Center ICO, including access to the IC and initial and ongoing education of program staff and community-based utilizers of the IC.
  • Primary end-user resource to facilitate the resolution of issues that arise in the use of software and applications and documents issues for tracking and trending.
  • Regularly formats AINS information for utilization by the HealthCheck Coordinators.
  • Consistently operates in accordance with HIPAA.
  • Possess knowledge on a wide range of applications functionality, content and associate workflows, becoming cross-functional in one or more applications.
  • Performs system maintenance and enhancement to vendor provided application software using Vidant Health Information.
  • Services change management procedures.
  • Works collaboratively with other VMC Information Services staff members, software vendors, NCCCN, CCNC, and external stakeholders to develop workflow efficiencies for program staff and stakeholders.
  • Collaborative with all levels of VMC, Vidant Health, CCPEC
  • Program, CCNC, NCCCN, and external stakeholder staffs to train, answer questions, and resolve issues with systems in place.
  • Meets regularly with members of the quality team to evaluate data collection that program reporting requirements are met.
  • Develops and maintains an expertise in utilization of NCCCN Informatics Center and AINS databases.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves problems with expertise.
  • Maintains CCPEC website and social-networking sites for staff utilization and education and network-affiliated provider education.
  • Works collaboratively with Vidant Health customers to analyze design, test build, implement, and support computer system(s) needed for program support and expansion.
  • First-line of support to NCCN and CCNC staff for network technical support needs.
  • Assist with the implementation/rollout of system(s).
  • Analyze and test impacts of upgrades to workflows/processes and develop, communicate, and train end-users on new processes.
  • Travel to Vidant Health hospitals, network-affiliated acute care and ambulatory care facilities throughout the 27 count region to provide education, support, and review of software and applications issues, observe utilization of applications, and make recommendations of best-use in the stakeholders' settings.
  • Works to resolve conflict constructively, seeding guidance with conflict resolution, if needed.
  • Along with other Quality Program staff and CCPEC leadership assists in the development, update, and maintenance of policies and procedures necessary to support technology-oriented policies and procedures.
  • Assists CCPEC leadership and care management staff in workflow issues while adhering to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Oversees the adherence to the Network users Agreement related to the Informatics Center and internal and external users.
  • Models adherence to policies and Procedures related to the security of personal health information and data utilization and documentation.
  • Serves as Liaison with Vidant Health Informatics.
  • Along with Quality Nurse Specialist, CCPEC leadership and CCNC/NCCCN remain knowledgeable of HIPPA standards and utilization of protected health information, including changes in regulations.
  • Assists quality team members in facilitating staff meetings to discuss changes in technology, hardware and software, and CCNC/NCCCN applications.
  • Consults with internal and external resources as needed.

Minimum Requirements

  • Four year degree in Information Technology or Business Education with concentration in business technology required.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in the combined areas of Business, Healthcare, or a related field.
