Position Summary

The Advanced RCP will be expected to focus in critical care areas, participate in research, lead patient education activities and function as a mentor to the AAS degree RCP's. The RCP-A will have advanced knowledge, critical thinking skills, professional development, and critical care expertise of Respiratory Care procedures. They will be involved in assisting with case management and the discharge planning processes. They will be called on to function as chronic pulmonary patient navigators.

Minimum Requirements

  • BSRT (Bachelor's in Respiratory Therapy)

  • Neonatal Pediatric Specialty (NPS) or the Adult Critical Care specialty (ACCS ) credential awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required

  • RRT required

  • ACLS or PALS and BLS for children services NRP required

  • 3 years to 5 years: Two of these years may include the clinical time in a COARC accredited respiratory degree program

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification with American Heart Association

Other Information


LEVEL ONE— Less than 3 years RT experience

LEVEL TWO— 3 to 10 years RT experience

LEVEL THREE—10 plus years RT Experience

RCP-A – Advanced Respiratory Practitioner—BSRT w/specialized certifications (NBRC, ACCS or NPS)



Potential $10,000 bonus for full time new hires

Relocation allowance if needed (75 miles minimum)
